Pastor for Community Life and Administration
The Reverend Carmen Valenzuela is a native Arizonan that spent a couple of decades in the Midwest and returned with a deeper appreciation for the sun. She has over 25 years of ordained ministry experience in a variety of interfaith and multicultural settings mostly in Minnesota. She has been at Epiphany since 2016, first with a focus on church administration and then adding a pastoral role. In addition to work in the faith community, Pastor Carmen has directed programs in community mental health and social services. She has assisted congregations, judicatories, non-profits and higher education institutions in analyzing systemic oppression and implementing a journey of institutional transformation towards dismantling those endemic issues. Other fun Minneapolis experiences were singing in a couple of Gospel choirs and church based community organizing. Pastor Carmen loves to preach and teach, operate our video and audio equipment and spend time with parishioners.
