Lauds (Traditional hour: dawn/waking up)Laudate, omnes gentes, laudate Dominum! [Sing praises, all people, sing praises to the Lord!]We greet the new day by praising the Creator.

Opening:

I begin this day with joy:God is good.

Scripture
Then he entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling things there; and he said, ‘It is written,
“My house shall be a house of prayer”;but you have made it a den of robbers.’Every day he was teaching in the temple. The chief priests, the scribes, and the leaders of the people kept looking for a way to kill him; but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were spellbound by what they heard.

-Luke 19:45-48 NRSV

Meditation
God is waiting for you. All you have to do is speak to him. Set a timer for five minutes; listen to what God is speaking into your heart.
Prayer
Holy Creator, help me to embrace this day with open arms and to share your good gifts with gladness and generosity. Amen.
Going Out

I begin this day with joy:God is good.
