The Rite of Reconciliation is one that has been central to the life of Christians from some of the earliest days of the church. More commonly known as confession, the Rite of Reconciliation is an invitation to healing and renewed relationship with God, with our neighbors, and with ourselves. During the rite, a person names, out loud and in the presence of a wise and discerning priest, those things that have hindered loving relationship. The Episcopal Church has two different rites available for use; one follows the shape of the Roman Catholic rite while the other follows a shape more common in the Orthodox churches.
The Rite of Reconciliation is offered at Church of the Epiphany during the season of Lent or by appointment with Father Hunter Ruffin. To schedule an appointment, you can use the scheduler below. During the season of Lent, please check our calendar page to find the times the rite is being offered.
